Victoria; Only a few more days remain and every Gorgjan is eagerly awaiting the feast of our Patron St. George. Victoria is already in full swing, the novena has began in the Basilica attended by many children. On Sunday Kan. Guzeppi Sacco celebrates his 50th. anniversary of his priesthood with a Solemn Mass and from theN onwards it's a whole week packed with lots of activities. Our hope is that as usual many will continue to attend the festivites at the Basilica and then enjoy the outer festivities organished as usual with true perfection by the La Stella Band.
No need to state that the Sunday Pontifical Mass will be a climax to the feast as will no doubt be the Statue's exit and magnificent entry into the Basilica later on in the evening.  These are magical moments that everyone will want to share and cherish for a long time.
Of course our  thoughts will be out there for all of you dear friends of La Stella Canada. We all know how much you miss St. George's Feast, but with today's modern technology you will no doubt follow all the events as best you can.
And so dear friends here's wishing you all IL-FESTA  T-TAJBA TA' SAN GORG. May our Patron Saint protect us all in our daily lives.

Melbourne Australia; Its good to see the dedication and the genuine love for St.George, I love St. George too!, you don't have to be from Victoria or Qormi, but no thanks for National Holidays there is more than enough and they cost Malta dearly, if I had my say there will be only one National Holiday, one that have a meaning for all the Nation. As patron saint ,again no thanks! ,St. Paul will do!, remember he is our father in faith and after all St. George is one of the patron saints of Gozo and England, leave Him be, otherwise he have to work to hard.; Replied on: 7:49pm 04-05-2010

Victoria; Hi, you surely must have heard that Dun Gwann Scicluna has passed away to a better life. It happened a few days ago and more than sixty priests concebrated during his funeral Mass which was presided over by His Lordship Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo. Many were present to give their last respects to this good priest who was ever present at the Basilica hearing confessions from people who came from practically all over the island.
It truly was a fitting occasion for Dun Gwann who had both San Gorg and La Stella Band dearly at heart. Indeed his demise is a big loss to them both; however we are conforted by the thought that he is now in a better place, enjoying the huge rewards that he worked for, while being in the good company of many others who departed before, especially that of his nephew Dun Salv.
